Adopting Above Code Programs – What it means to the Building Department

If your jurisdiction is seeking to implement above code programs such as LEED or NAHB Green Building Guidelines, this class is for you. We will take you through the highlights of several of the more popular programs and show how they have successfully been implemented in other communities.

This 2 hour course will focus on the nuts and bolts of implementing an above code program, the potential costs, successful strategies for incentives, and more.

Eric Makela and Michelle Britt will be your instructors. Eric has worked for more energy efficient construction for over 20 years. He trains across the country on energy efficient building practices, building codes, and above code programs. Michelle’s land use, transportation, and energy. She is a LEED AP. They are partners in Britt/Makela Group, Inc.
